SAFEWAY CHILL PICKING OPERATION - TDG WILLAND

Studies carried out by AS Consulting from January to March 2004 identified significant savings in one of our picking operations.

Time Study results of the improved Method (Layout, Equipment & Process) proved that the picking rate (cases per hour) should have been more than DOUBLE the rate actually being achieved!!

The specific method & performance improvements identified by ASC were equivalent to a 23% reduction in direct labour costs of our overall warehouse operation!!

The work carried out by AS Consulting was already having a positive effect on the bottom line even before the project finished in April 2004. Namely, our Finance Director had noticed a measurable increase in profitibality from the contract.
